Winter’s Hush: Sacred Earth - Sacred Self

January 22nd - January 24th, 2027

Mariawald Retreat Center, Reading, PA ___________________________________________________________________

There is a quiet wisdom that winter offers—a season that invites us to slow our pace, soften our striving, and remember that rest is not the absence of growth, but the place where growth begins.

Join us for a nourishing weekend designed especially for women who long to step away from the demands of everyday life and reconnect with themselves through the healing rhythms of nature, yoga, meditation, meaningful conversation, and community. Together, we'll explore what it means to become a quiet observer of our inner landscape, discovering that the same patience, resilience, and beauty found in the natural world already lives within us.

Throughout this thoughtfully curated retreat, you'll be guided through experiences that encourage reflection, renewal, and a deeper relationship with both the Earth and yourself.

January 22–24, 2027 • Early Bird $450 through November 15

During your Winter's Hush retreat, you'll experience:

  • Private bed and bath accommodations

  • Restorative and gentle yoga practices for every body

  • Guided meditation and Yoga Nidra for deep relaxation

  • Reflective journaling and personal contemplation

  • Time immersed in the quiet beauty of the winter landscape

  • A unique nature photography experience using your cell phone to discover "Nature as Mirror"

  • An inspiring conversation with a local woman whose life reflects the wisdom of living seasonally and in harmony with the land

  • Thoughtful workshops exploring mindfulness, resilience, and self-discovery

  • An optional opportunity to enjoy a henna tattoo experience

  • A Sound Bath experience

  • Delicious and lovingly prepared meals

  • Warm connection with a small circle of supportive women

  • Quiet moments for walking, reading, creating, or simply being

  • Beautiful retreat gifts and meaningful take-home resources to continue your journey long after the weekend ends

Whether you arrive feeling weary, overwhelmed, at a crossroads, or simply longing for space to breathe, you'll leave with a quieter mind, a fuller heart, and practical practices to help you carry winter's wisdom into your everyday life.

    Come home to yourself.
The Earth has been quietly showing us the way all along.

From some of the beautiful women who attended last year:

“Each year I plan for the Winter's Hush retreat as my way of entering the new year with a feeling of safety, care, and love.” - Diane C.

“The gift of precious time to be introspective is truly treasured. The winter’s hush created the space for inner peace, dream time, self-care, and loving care by a lovely staff and facilitators. The sense of community was so appreciated. I left our beautiful retreat in a blissful state of mind. Namaste” – Suzanne V.

Winter asks nothing of us except that we listen.

As you leave this retreat, may you carry with you the stillness of the forest, the resilience of the trees, and the quiet confidence that comes from remembering who you are beneath the noise of everyday life. The Earth has always been our teacher. Perhaps all we ever needed was the space to hear her.

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.“- Albert Einstein

Namaste,
